Fathers and Sons

I went to California for my Grandma's Funeral, Abby slept at DeHaans house, and Tige took the 3 boys to father's and sons.  The details are always sketchy on these outings, but they snapped a few pictures and looked like they had fun.  Tige was a good sport to take Zach.  When I asked him how he slept he said "well, Kason still grinds his teeth."  The Briggs boys came along too, so I'm sure it was even more fun to have cousins.  They caught frogs in the stream, which Zach was too  scared to touch.  Yay for finally using our new 10-man tent that we've had for a year.

Tige sent this picture to me in California.  It always warms my heart to see these cute kids camping with their dad.

Glitter Mountain

We've lived in St. George for 8 years, and only just became aware of "Glitter Mountain."  So we found it on google earth, took some doughnuts & chocolate milk with us, and went for a breakfast picnic.  The kids had fun chiseling little pieces of "diamonds" from the mountain and hiking around.

Lake Havasu

JaNae's husband Matt has been working in Lake Havasu, and has rented a little house with a FABULOUS backyard pool and BBQ area.  So we decided we'd better get down there on President's Day weekend to check it out.  We had a great time playing games, binge TV watching, swimming, eating, and site seeing at the London Bridge.  It was bigger than I ever expected and it mind boggling that someone would ship it across the ocean, trek it to Arizona, and build a town there.

Monday night hike

We took advantage of the beautiful spring weather Monday night to head out for a little fresh air at Snow Canyon.  We just climbed up a small rock near the picnic areas and let the kids get some energy out.  Then we grabbed a bite of dinner at McDonalds and let the kids play until bedtime at a park close to Snow Canyon.  Tige spun the 3 big kids around and around on these little circle chairs until they couldn't see straight.  They loved it!  Taylor was hilarious when getting up from the circle chair because he couldn't contain his dizziness and fell down every time.

Sand Hollow

Andy/Rachel were down for their spring break during General Conference Weekend.  Melenie was also down here with her boys.  So we met Clark's family and G&G Taylor at Sand Hollow Saturday for a little fun.  Clark drove us around in his Razr, and we had a picnic lunch.  The kids loved playing in the sand, but it quickly turned cold and windy, so we bailed.  I wasn't very prepared and didn't have extra clothing or jackets for my kids.  Taylor got all sandy, then all wet, then was very cold.  Good thing Aunt Char is always extra prepared and helped us out with warm clothes.

Taylor's first ride in the razr.  He wasn't sure he enjoyed it.

Love this picture of Taylor in the sand.  This was the picture before he rinsed off and was shaking cold.
