Saying Goodbye to Calvin

Last weekend we went to see Tige's youngest brother Calvin who is getting ready to serve a mission in California.  We went to the temple with him when he received his endowment and then listened to him speak in church at his farewell.  It was a really nice weekend and we were glad to get to be there.

While we were in Monticello, grandma had the kids decorate a "spooky Halloween tree" and then Grandma read them a Berenstein Bears story about a spooky tree.  They loved it.

It was hard to say good-bye to Calvin because Abby started crying that she didn't want to go home, whch got me crying too.  Not a surprise there.  We will miss Uncle Calvin, but are very excited to watch him work hard and serve and look forward to getting his letters.  Our kids are already praying for him even though he hasn't entered teh MTC yet.

Time Out For Women

On October 12-13, I met my mom and 3 of my sisters in law at Time Out For Women in Richfield.  I loved every minute of it!  We went out to dinner Friday when we got there, then attended the evening event, and spent the night at my mom's friend Margie's house.  She had hot apple cidar and gingersnaps when we got there.  We visited a while and went to bed.  Margie fixed us a great breakfast and also a delicious lunch between sessions.  We attended the sessions on Saturday and had such a great time being together.  Only Rachel wasn't there and we missed her!

 

After the sessions we went to Ideal Dairy for ice cream and punch bags.  Then Melenie & Cristal headed home and mom, Char, and I went and put flowers on Grandpa & Grandma Scott's graves.  Then we shopped a little at Christensen's where Char found 2 cute jackets, and then we headed home.  It was a lovely weekend!

Marathon Man

The ran the St. George Marathon this weekend.  This is his 3rd marathon in St. George, and his 5th marathon overall.  He ran this one with his brother Kirk. 

 

He stopped to say hi and visit for a few minutes and took a picture with Abby. 

 

 Taylor kept trying to eat the half-eaten otter pops the runners were throwing on the road.  Gross.

Our support shirts from the Ironman have come in handy for his other races! 

Lyon was here to watch his boys run.  They also got to go to a movie and to the Priesthood meeting together.  They had a nice weekend with each other.
