End of 1st Grade

We can't quite believe that 1st grade is over! Kason has just loved school this year and couldn't wait to get there every morning! His teacher was C. Webb. Kason is very social and made LOTS of friends in first grade. His very best friends this year were: Caileb, Cameron, Jorge, Jayden W., & Cami. Every time I visited Kason's classroom this year, his desk was in a different place. I think Mrs. Webb frequently moved him around because he chats a lot with pretty much anybody he's near. She placed him by Cami, who was the quietest and most well-behaved girl in the class, and Kason even got her talking! He is a very happy and is excited about most everything.

He earned the Radiant Roadrunner award again this year and is an excellent student. He reads at a 3rd grade level, and amazes me with his math skills. Math must be his favorite subject because it's always the first part of his homework that he wants to do. He loves to count money & add numbers. He got 100% on almost every spelling test the whole year long.

One of his favorite things about school this year was that every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch recess, the kids ran around the track. For every 5 miles they ran, they got a "foot" charm to add to a necklace. And when they finished a 26.2 mile marathon, they got a special charm for that. Kason finished almost 3 marathons during the school year, sometimes running over 2 miles in the 30 minute window to eat lunch & run. I do believe he scarfed his school lunch as fast as possible so he could get out there and run. The kid takes after his dad.

He already knows who his teacher will be next year and he's so excited for 2nd grade to start.
