Last weekend we hiked the slot canyons at Spring Creek near Kanarraville. The first part of the hike wasn't very scenic, and we crossed back and forth over the creek a dozen times. I was nervous that we'd have another falling in the water episode, but fortunately we all stayed dry. After a mile or two (Tige says it was only about a mile--I'd swear it was at least 2) we reached the slot canyon, which was a beautiful area with the creek running through it. There was still a little snow, and lots of big animal tracks. Kason & Tige both carried hiking sticks, and Kason kept hitting his on the rock and saying "Calling all animals!" I slathered Abby with sunscreen, but she stared up at the sun the whole time, and she got a tiny bit sunburned right underneath her eyes where the sunscreen didn't get close enough to her eye. Next time I'll do a better job. She was an angel on the hike. It was a beautiful day, a nice hike, and fun time spent together.

Kudos for hiking with the kids. My kids are so wimpy, I didn't dare take them hiking until recently. I take that back, Belle is a trooper, Cole is a wimp. Nice job with the pipe cleaners! How did your brother get a red head?
