Ironman Fun Run

Yesterday was the first ever IRONMAN race in St. George. Tige was a volunteer in the medical tent, and started numerous IV's for athletes who had to stop the race prematurely. He enjoyed it so much. He went back late in the evening to see some of his friends from the Southern Utah Triathlon Club cross the finish line. He wants to do the full St. George Ironman in 2012. Friday night they had a kids Ironman race, which Kason ran in. It was one mile. When Tige told me about it, I said "he's only 6! He can't run a full mile." But he proved me wrong when Tige took him out on a practice run, and he ran a mile in only 11 minutes. Amazing. I can't even dream of doing that. Anyway, he ran the kids race and had a good time. He got a shirt and his own medal.
They got to cross the finish line at the real Ironman finish line.

Last weekend there was a family bike ride that we went to. The kid's both got a new helmet and then they rode 4.5 miles. Tige was hoping I'd ride too, but with my 7 month pregnant belly, I opted to sit on the grass and read a book.

After the bike race, we had ice cream. Unfortunately my baby wipes were in the car and the race people didn't have napkins, so we were left with this mess (which Daddy licked up).

Clark's kids were here last week and they enjoyed playing on the swingset. We switched out the middle hanging bar thing for the tire swing, and they ran around and played outside until they were ready to drop. So much fun.

Abby LOVES being outside. Can you tell?

I love reading your blog. It's so fun and gives me a good laugh. Your kids are adorable. I can't believe how big Abby is getting. I have only seen her grow up through your blog but it seems like it is happening so fast.

Good choice on reading a book instead of biking. lol. Way to go Kason! He can do it faster than I can! That's awesome! Is he going to be hooked like Tige?

It's so fun to keep up on your family! You always do so many fun things. Linda (my sister) also volunteered at the iron man thing, she rode her bike with the runners!
