Brian Head Weekend

We spent this past weekend at my parent's cabin at Panguitch Lake. Just a few weeks ago they finished a theatre room in the basement of the cabin. It is AWESOME and we watched several movies. The kids played outside a lot and everyone had fun. Tige somehow talked my dad and my brother into running the 1st Annual Brian Head 5K with him on Saturday. They raced at over 10,000 ft. elevation on a trail run which included rocks, branches, and a creek. We were proud of all of them for finishing. There were over 100 runners, and all 3 of our boys finished in the top half, with Tige finishing 18th overall. All smiles at the begininng of the race.

This is what the kids did during the race.

After the race, we had a picnic lunch, and then rode the ski lift up to the top of Brian Head. Abby liked it at first, but not so much as we got higher and it got more windy.

We went back to Cedar City on Sunday where my sweet mom watched the 4 kids so we could attend the broadcast of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication. There were many touching stories from the speakers, and I was glad we had the opportunity to go.

That race is impressive, especially at the high altitude. Did you have to ride on the ski-lift alone? I see everyone else is together. Poor Julie.

I wasn't alone--I had Abby. Although we had her strapped on Tige's tummy in the snugli thing, they insisted she be in the car seat, which didn't leave enough room for Tige & Kason. The car seat was totally dirty and gross. Yuck!

Looks like a fun weekend. I am impressed with the three of them running the race.

Gotcha, I can see now that that picture of her is on the ski-lift. Duh. I'm glad you weren't lonely. :)

I didn't see any pictures of the theater room. I still can't believe Tige and all this exercise. I want his motivation. Darn kids for growing up!!! Braxton is doing the morning thing too. I miss doing more than that. I am glad you enjoyed the cabin.

Tige looks good in a bandana. Love the pictures. I bet Brian Head is perfect weather right now....i'm a little jealous.

I just don't get the running thing. Anyway I'm glad everyone had a good day and tell Tiger Lily he looks good. I also wanted to tell you that Cory is going to Aphganistan sometime in September. (They don't release the exact day they deploy for security reasons.)That means that all three of Steven and Lauries boys will be over there. They all have children so tell the rest of the family so they keep them in their prayers. Mikey is Airforce, Shane is an MP and Cory will be on the ground in the front with the Marines.
