I was in the garage today, and I happened to glance into a small garbage can by my car, and there was a lizard! I tapped the garbage can to see if it was dead, and it started running around, but it couldn't get out. Eeeek! I'm not a lizard, spider, snake kind of mommy. I called Kason out to see it, and he of course thought that was the greatest thing to ever happen to him.
I took the garbage can to the back yard, and told him he could look at it until dad came home to see it. A few minutes later, he walks into the room carrying the lizard by the tail and asks me to take a picture! I freaked out ... "Get that bleepin lizard outside! You may NOT bring it in the house." I'm currently having spine chilling thoughts of this lizard running around loose in my house and climbing in my bed. Or my baby's crib. Nasty. Anyway, Kason has been looking at it for the past several hours--giving it grass and rocks for his "home" in the garbage can. He wants to keep it forever as a pet. Hmmm. What do lizards eat?

Gotta love boys....and did you really swear? :) lol
In my house it was Melissa who always had the snakes, toads, frogs and etc. We had a snake loose in the house months before we found it. I would leave the door open in hopes it would crawl out. Lizards eat bugs by the way. When he gets a frog or toad I have a neat way to fed them with out catching flys.
Maybe Kason needs to come and hang out with Luke! Yesterday he found 68 (not a typo!) wooly bear caterpillars! Then we dissected the owl pellet we found and discovered a mouse skull, and other cool little bones. A good boy day!
I am like you and that I don't like those things. I dread the day my son brings those things into the house!
Oh the joys of living in St. George! Cockroaches, lizards, scorpions...at least you've got a brave kid to take care of them for you! When I was a kid we were always finding creatures like that
(mostly spiders) to put in a box together and watch them fight. Maybe not the best idea and certainly not humane, but entertaining for my brothers nonetheless. Boys are funny.
Such darling pictures--with that sweet baby and mom, and adventurous Kason. I survived a few lizards and an iguana--remember? But we didn't hike much--I guess that's the downside of 3 babies in three years. Enjoy this time together.
Mom
Yuck! I am with you! Gross! Kirk and Evie were playing with a spider the other day and she got upset when daddy put it in the garbage. Gross. I got bit by a spider so I have an extra excuse to hate them. I burn easy as well. Does Tige have that awesome skin like Kirk that burns then tans. I am pretty jealous about that and hope my kids get that from Kirk.
I used to do that when I was a kid...we found them in the window wells of the basement and would bring them in the house. haha. I think they eat crickets though.
