Kason played soccer this spring, and sadly was on a losing team again. He was a great player and worked hard, but they didn't win a single game. It was a 3-4 grade league, and he was the only 4th grader on his team. A couple of the games the other teams had a really good player, and they would keep that player in the entire game at the striker position running up the score. This is a league where each child is supposed to play at least half the game, so when other teams are keeping their "star" playing in the whole game, having him kick the penalty kicks even when the score is 8-0 is frustrating to say the least.
Kason enjoyed playing goalie some of the time because he was always able to stop the ball, and he has a killer drop-kick, almost clear to the other goal! He was a good sport, despite the frustration sometimes and I'm proud of the kind, caring young man he is growing up to be.
Grandma Hazleton, Teina, and JaNae's family all came to his last game (with doughnuts and chocolate milk) so that was fun. Dad also came to his last game despite the fact he'd just worked a graveyard. Lots of people love this kid.
