Vampire Teeth

Kason came to me the other day and showed me this tiny, white spot up high in his gums.  I said "oh that looks like a canker sore.  It'll feel better in a day or two."  Then I forgot about it.  A couple of weeks later, she came and showed me again and said "mom, it's not getting better."  It was bigger by then and we realized it was a TOOTH!  Ugh.  The baby molar was still in his mouth (and not loose at all), so the new tooth was starting to grow out sideways.

So off he went to the dentist for a tooth extraction.  He was very brave and the extraction was quick and much less painful than I had anticipated.  The dentist also took a panoramic xray of his mouth, and we thought it was SO cool to see all those teeth below the surface still needing to come in.  The toothfairy usually bring $1 for each tooth, or $2 for the front teeth, but Kason got so lucky to get $5 for the extracted tooth!  I guess the toothfairy thinks teeth are worth more when the dentist has to pull them out.

My dentist usually asks the kids after he is finished if they are ready for him to do it and they say yes. Then he tells them its already done. They can't believe it. Kason's tooth should come in quickly now. I'm glad it was better than you thought it would be.
