Biggest Loser 5K

I ran a 5k. Oh yes I did. Ok, I'll admit that it was more walking than running, but Tige assures me that's ok. It was the biggest loser 5k here in town. Tige took me out training for almost 2 months before the race. I have an earlier post about this. The morning came and it was cold and kind of miserable. The 2 little kids were getting colds and it was threatening to rain. But we did it anyway. On the way there in the car, Kason said "do we have to run with mom? I said "no, you guys can go on ahead. I'll run by myself." He raised his fist triumphantly and said "YES!" Thanks bud. Good to know where I stand. Tige pushed Abby & Taylor in the stroller and Kason ran along side them. I was only with them for about 45 seconds before they pulled away. After the turn-around point when I saw them again, Kason gave me a big high-5 and they cheered for me, which made me feel good.
About 10 or so contestants from various seasons of the Biggest Loser were there. It was cool to see some of them in person after we'd watched their weight-loss journey on TV. Darius and Adam gave me a high-5 as I crossed the finish line.

Tige and Kason finished in 33 minutes. Kason took 1st place among the 7 year olds, beating the next one by 9 whole minutes! Wow. After they finished, Tige came back and looked for me and finished the rest of the race with me (still pushing the stroller) which was very helpful in getting me to the end. I finished in 50:31, and it just started raining on my last 1/2 mile so it's a good thing I was almost done. It was pretty much a downpour as we were pulling away in the car.
Mmm, chocolate milk & fruit. Kason was lucky enough to get a big cinnamon roll when he finished, but those were gone by the time I rolled in. ;)

Julie, I need to call you. I would like to like running. I don't like running, but I am thinking that if I do it enough I will have to like it right? Good job. I'm impressed.
