We had a great holiday weekend with Tige's family in Monticello. I took about 140 pictures, so you're in for a long post. Tige did his first sprint triathalon. It was the Hillman Triathalon at Recapture Reservoir, which was a 1/2 mile swim (across the lake and back), a 15 mile bike ride, then a 3.2 mile run. It was very difficult with lots of hills on both the bike and the run, but Tige did it! His whole family went to support him, and we are all so proud of him.

Tige & Kirk

Getting ready for the swim. Tige is the cutie right in the center with goggles on looking at the camera.

Transition from swim to bike.

Coming in at the end of the bike ride. His handle bars came loose on the rental bike and were rolling forward, dang it! He can't wait until he has his OWN bike to practice and race with.

The end of the run.

Ah, all finished! We left the race, went to the parade, after after a 1 hour rest, he went golfing. I would have been dead for a week. He's a machine I tell you. He's amazing!
The 24th of July Parade

The parade float that Tige's parents made for the 4th ward.

Kason gave "thumbs up" to the cute MHS cheerleaders while eating one of about 2 dozen popcicles he consumed this weekend.

Abby also consumed several popcicles this weekend. She loved it!
Fireworks!

Watching dad's display of fireworks in the backyard.

Even Tige & Kirk joined the sparkler fun.

Watching those firework snakes grow

Sparklers for all. Notice my dog Toffee found a comfy spot to enjoy the festivities.

Family Fun!
We crammed lots of card games into the weekend--that's our favorite pasttime when we're together. We also had some yummy meals and lots of fun.

Grandma, Abby & a popcicle. Yum!

Kason, Evie & Gavin had a blast playing in Grandma's backyard.
Ode to the 85 degree Monticello summers. It felt so nice.

Kason chillin with Evie around bedtime. They made these little beds themselves.

Abby (10 months) and Braxton (6 months).
What a crazy house we'll have when these 2 are running around with the other 3 cousins.

Kudos to Tige for doing the triathlon. I remember going and watching my friend do the swim part I was always amazed. Way to go Tige! It's also fun to see Tige's family, they look great. I miss the Monticello 24th celebration and wish we could've been there. Thanks for the pictures.
You took some great pictures! I need some copies! I LOVE the one with our babies both smiling. What cute kids we have! I also really like the one of Kirk and that cute blond girl. She can't be mine. She looks to old in that picture.
Ohhhhh... the 24th in Monticello! How I miss it. Did you eat a Navajo Taco for me???
Could it be that Abby looks a little like her grandma Hazelton
Tige is a stud! It sure looks like you all had a great time. I wish they had an extra holiday in July in Nevada!!
